Jerk Mag
A few weeks ago I sat down for a few hours over the course of a couple days with Jerk Magazine.
This student run magazine at Syracuse University ran a great story on Aux. You can get a
taste of it over at www.jerkmag.net/noise.htm
but you'll need to grab a copy of the magazine around the city for the full story. You can
also see that I drop a few names of bands to check out (that are not on Aux) in their online exclusives section.

It will primarily be a digital release (first through Snocap then iTunes), though we'll do a short run of CD-Rs that we package for anyone who wants to pick up a disk instead of a download. Each packaged disk will be slightly different so what you get will be unique.
The music will be for sale starting on Tuesday, December 25.

Syr @ SXSW
We're trying to organize and host a SXSW showcase this year that highlights
bands based in Central New York (as all the Aux bands are). We started
syracuseatsxsw.com
to help make this happen. If you are looking for a shot to play in Austin this year, visit
syracuseatsxsw.com,
submit for the conference at sxsw.com and let us know that you want to be considered
for the Syracuse showcase. There are strength in numbers so if we get a large
number of bands interested, we should be able to showcase some CNY talent in Texas.

Monday Night Rock Show 9/17
Time for more Aux shows! Warped tour vets (and good friends) Blameshift
headline the night. Don't know 'em yet? They just released a CD produced
by the guys who produced Coheed & Cambria. They hail from Long Island
and come from a scene that has pumped out some of today's biggest rock acts.
AP had them as one of the country's best unsigned bands (August '07 issue). Oh,
and their singer is an SU alum. I had them play with Merit a couple years ago and
I am excited that they are coming back through Syracuse. They are seriously one of
the hardest working bands on the road today.
On the "No Haircut Tour II" with Blameshift is Waiting For A Miracle
from Burlington, VT. Their pop-rock landed them a deal on Hotfoot Records.
Local Syracuse heroes Fazeshift bring their powerpop to the show. These guys
have slugged it out at shows through CNY and never disappoint.
The show is at The Redhouse - a stop on the SU connective corridor bus route -
across from the SU Warehouse in Armory Square. I'll be doing much more there in
the future. If you are a rock fan, I think you'll really be into this show.
The show is ALL AGES and $6 at the door. Doors at 6:30 pm, show at 7:00 pm.
September 4, 2007
come home
caleb micah's disk arrives today and we're releasing it right away.
Be one of the first to grab a copy of the disk direct from Aux.
Right now, you can't get it anywhere else but in our merch section.
It's $6 postage paid from us and you'll get a free Merit
sampler with your online order (until 9/30 or until they are all gone).
Come celebrate the release of the disk and see caleb micah perform at
The Redhouse (201 S. West Street, Syracuse) on Sunday 9/9 at 9:00 pm
with Honor Bright.

A Message from Merit
Unfortunately, we weren't selected to play this year's SXSW showcase. However, we wouldn't have even come close to playing the show if it weren't for
your hard work. So from the bottom of our hearts, thank you.
Thank you for taking the time, supporting us and most importantly believing in the music we make.
The rock continues.
Hey Syracuse, we're on tour right now but we'll be back home for a show Saturday, February 24. Come and rock with us, baby. Mac's Bad Art Bar. 9pm. Five buck cover.... We're playing with the monsters of Syracuse rock, Candid.
Please come out, have a drink and chill with us.
Again, thank you all for the hard work. It means a lot. We hope to see you all at the next show.

Anorexic Beauty Queen
Aux Records is proud to announce that Anorexic Beauty Queen
has been added to the label's roster. With a five-year track history, two independent
releases and numerous tours of the east coast and mid-west, Anorexic Beauty Queen
bring experience and a more melodic mixture of emotionally inspired indie rock to
the label.
On April 17, 2006 Anorexic Beauty Queen begins the recording process for
their third release at More Sound Studio (Syracuse, NY) with Jocko at
the helm. Their as yet untitled release is due out this summer.
Visit ABQ online at www.anorexicbeautyqueen.com or myspace.com/anorexicbeautyqueen.
I'm thrilled to have the opportunity to work with Anorexic Beauty Queen. ABQ has had tremendous success without the backing of a label, a testament to the drive and dedication of the band, and I'm very excited to be able to support their next release.
